Project |07 Jim Bentley interview on Stewart Drummond
Drummond a big loss
MANAGER Jim Bentley has described the loss of Veteran midfielder Stewart Drummond as a major blow for the Shrimps.
The 38-year-old midfielder has featured 39 times for the Shrimps and is a key component in the middle of the park.
Bentley told The Score: “Drummy is one of those that you don't know how much you're going to miss him until he doesn't play and we could see that on Tuesday.
“He's been a great servant to the club, he can still do the business and when you're looking for an experience old head, there's not many better than Drummy at this level.
“Unfortunately we'll miss him now but it's time for other people to step up to the plate and make sure that they fill his boots appropriately and we continue to move forward.
However, The Shrimps boss hasn’t ruled out bringing one or two loan players in before the visit of Northampton Town.
He continued: “There might be someone coming in who can and play a couple of different positions just to give us another body. We're relatively small squad and if you take three of four injures, it doesn't half take its toll on you so we're just identifying one or two at the moment and hopefully we'll do a little bit of business over the next day or two.
“There might be one or two that go out on loan, Will Bell's just gone for another month to marine to get first team football but we'll see.”
